DESCRIPTION
Braes of Glenlivet ist ein Name, den man nicht sehr oft hört. Die Brennerei wurde in den 1970er Jahren von Chivas gebaut und 1994 in Braeval umbenannt, um Verwechslungen mit Glenlivet zu vermeiden. Dieser Whisky wurde kurz vor der Namensänderung hergestellt, bevor die Brennerei an Pernod Ricard verkauft und eingemottet wurde. Glücklicherweise wurde ein Teil der fabelhaften Spirituose, die hier hergestellt wurde, von den Gebrüdern Chivas gerettet und kommt nun langsam als Teil der Secret Speyside Collection auf den Markt. Soweit wir wissen, ist dies die erste offizielle Abfüllung aus Braes of Glenlivet, einer der höchstgelegenen Destillerien Schottlands.

1995 destilliert, ein Vierteljahrhundert in amerikanischer Eiche gereift und 2020 abgefüllt, ist Braes of Glenlivet 25 Year Old eine echte Rarität. Er ist ein einzigartiges Medley aus klassischen Desserts, Fruchtsalat und Thai-Curry; Marmelade und Vanillepudding, Pflaumenkompott, Honig und Marmelade vermischen sich mit Cantaloupe-Melone, Aprikose, rotem Apfel und Birne, untermauert mit Zitronengras, Kaffernlimette, Kokosmilch, Koriander, Kardamom und einer Prise feurigem Chili.

Er wurde in den Bergen geboren und schmeckt, als sei er mit wärmendem, goldenem Sonnenschein versetzt worden - ein Getränk, das man auf jeden Fall in den Flachmann füllen sollte, wenn man in den Highlands wandern geht.
