DESCRIPTION

Der Tomatin 10 Years ist ein Single Malt Whisky, der von dem unabhängigen Abfüller Dràm Mòr abgefüllt wurde. Der Whisky reifte 10 Jahre lang und wurde in einem ehemaligen First Fill White Port-Fass mit der Nummer 150 gelagert, bevor er mit 53,1% vol. abgefüllt wurde. Diese Abfüllung ist auf 178 Flaschen begrenzt.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Ein starker Start mit süßer, goldener Gerste, die zu geröstetem Karamell, getrockneten Beeren und Kakao mit einem Hauch von geschnittenem Gras reift.

Innerhalb weniger Augenblicke erreicht alles seine Synchronität und hinterlässt reiche Noten von frisch gesägter Eiche.
Palate Goldener Sirup springt nach vorne und füllt den Mund mit leicht adstringierenden Noten von Eiche. Es gibt eine kurze, herrliche, fast überwältigende Empfindung von öliger Vanille, die in gerösteten Hafer, roten Apfel und Toffee übergeht. Ein einfaches, aber sehr befriedigendes Erlebnis.
Finish Honig, der sich in den Wangen sammelt, und leichter Kakao auf der Zunge, der sanft in lange, beruhigende Eiche und Milchschokolade übergeht.

  • Tomatin - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    Die Tomatin Distillery ist eine Single Malt Scotch Whisky-Brennerei in dem Dorf Tomatin. Ihr Whisky wird als aus der Highland-Region stammend eingestuft, da sie 25 Minuten südlich von Inverness liegt.

    Obwohl Tomatin 1987 als die größte Malzbrennerei Schottlands bezeichnet wurde, wurden die Destillierapparate seit Mitte der 1980er Jahre abgebaut, so dass sich die Gesamtkapazität auf etwas mehr als 5 Millionen Liter belief, obwohl 2007 nur noch 2,5 Millionen Liter produziert wurden.

    In den 20 Jahren vor der Liquidation bedeutete der wachsende Export von schottischem Whisky, dass der größte Kunde von Tomatin Japans größter Getränkehersteller war - Takara Shuzo Ltd.

    Als Tomatin 1984 zur Liquidation gezwungen wurde, schloss sich Takara Shuzo mit dem angesehenen Handelsunternehmen Okura zusammen und kaufte die Brennerei, wodurch die Tomatin Distillery Company Ltd. entstand und 1986 die erste schottische Brennerei in japanischem Besitz gegründet wurde.

    Etwa achtzig Prozent des Tomatin-Whiskys werden zu Blended Whisky verarbeitet, darunter die eigenen Marken Antiquary und Talisman. In letzter Zeit bemüht sich die Brennerei, ihren Namen als Hersteller von Single Malts zu festigen und erweitert ihr Kernsortiment.

    Die Palette der Single Malts wird derzeit in über 50 Exportmärkten verkauft, und es kommen ständig weitere Märkte hinzu.

    Dràm Mòr, which means "Great Whisky" in Scottish Gaelic, is an independent spirits bottler based in Dumbarton, Scotland. Founded in 2019 by the husband-and-wife team Kenny and Viktorija Macdonald, Dràm Mòr draws on their extensive experience working for whisky companies and co-founding the Mòr Whisky Club. This background provides them with a deep understanding of quality spirits and the intricate aspects of the industry.

    Dràm Mòr is dedicated to delivering unique, high-quality spirits through their expert team and the selection of special casks. They take pride in their transparent approach to spirits, believing that everything that comes from a cask can be truly unique, extremely delicious, and most importantly, interesting. This commitment results in the daily selection and bottling of unique, wonderful, and fascinating products.

    The company's branding and label design have a distinctive touch, thanks to the collaboration with Lithuanian artist Iveta Šmidtaite, who designed the original mountain logo, and local Glasgow designer Joanne Smith, who handles brand development and marketing.

    Dràm Mòr is proud of its roots in the once highly influential town of Dumbarton, Scotland, with its historic whisky heritage. They are excited to bring this heritage back to Dumbarton and open a new chapter for the industry at this prominent location.
