DESCRIPTION

Reservoir was founded in 2008 in Richmond, Virginia, by childhood friends Jay Carpenter and Dave Cuttino, who set out to honor their Southern heritage and shake up the conventional whiskey world. It was the third bourbon whiskey distillery established outside of Kentucky.

This latest release of a red wine–finished whiskey bursts with the flavor of ripe red fruits drawn from the cask’s previous contents, including Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. At the same time, it retains the distillery’s signature notes of velvety toffee, tobacco, and oak that define its bourbon.

Maison de Cuivre (The Copper House) is a limited-time offering (LTO) from Reservoir Bourbon, finished in French oak Meritage casks — a richly flavored, limited release that won’t be around for long.

TASTING NOTES

Reservoir - American Whiskey
Reservoir was founded in 2008 in Richmond, Virginia, by childhood friends Jay Carpenter and Dave Cuttino. The Reservoir Distillery was only the third bourbon whiskey distillery to be established outside of Kentucky. As a small distillery, all bottles are hand-filled and individually numbered. In fact, everything in the distillery is handcrafted, from mashing to distilling to the final sealing of the bottles.
All the grain comes from within a 45-mile radius of the distillery, making everything very local. And now for something truly special: the distillery only produces single grain whiskeys. Their bourbon consists of 100% corn. Their rye consists of 100% rye. Their wheat whiskey consists of 100% wheat. Recently, they received multiple gold and even double gold awards at the San Francisco World Spirits Awards.
