Im Hof des Dingle-Pubs Dick Mack’s lodern die Flammen, während Druidin Juli Ni Mhaoileoin das keltische Neujahr einleitet – und eine Whisky-Neuheit begrüßt.

Das Feuerfest Samhain markiert seit über 2.000 Jahren den ersten Abschnitt des keltischen Kalenders. Insgesamt umfasst der volkstümliche Jahreskreis acht Feste. Jedem von ihnen widmet die Dingle Distillery ab jetzt eine eigene Abfüllung. Mit dem Samhain Single Malt startet die unabhängige Brennerei aus Irlands Südwesten in die neue Serie „Wheel of the Year“.

Die limitierte Abfüllung ist ein dreifach destillierter Single Malt Irish Whiskey, dem Master Distiller Graham Coull nach fünf Jahren in Bourbonfässern ein Finish in Muscatel Casks von Fernando de Castilla angedeihen ließ. So bleibt Dingles Samhain trotz kräftiger 50,5 Volumenprozente zugänglich und rund.

Wer eine der 10.000 Flaschen ergattert, kann sich auf helle und dunkle Fruchtnoten, einen Hauch Rosinen, Mandeln sowie süße Gewürze und Pfeffer freuen.
