Balcones ZZ Top Tres Hombres wurde, wie der Name es bereits vermuten lässt, in Zusammenarbeit mit der Musikgruppe ZZ Top hergestellt und kombiniert drei verschiedene Getreidesorten - blauen Mais, gemälzte Gerste und Roggen, die die drei Bandmitglieder repräsentieren.

Die 1969 in Houston gegründete Band ZZ Top, die für ihren unverwechselbaren Blues-Rock-Sound bekannt ist, steht seit mehr als fünf Jahrzehnten mit ihren Aufnahmen und unermüdlichen Tourneen als Synonym für alles, was Texas ausmacht und daher passt der Whisky perfekt ins Markenbild von Balcones.
