DESCRIPTION
Diese zutiefst süße und nussige Abfüllung in kleiner Auflage ist der erste Glenmorangie, der in seltenen Palo Cortado Sherryfässern gereift ist. Mit einer Reifezeit von 12 Jahren verleiht er dem delikaten Stil der Highland Distillery eine neue Eleganz.

Der Single Malt verbrachte seine ersten 8 Jahre in amerikanischen Bourbonfässern aus Weißeiche. Dann war Dr. Bill von dem weichen, sanften Charakter dieses Whiskys so begeistert, dass er eine ausgewählte Charge in Palo Cortado-Fässern reifen ließ, die noch nie zuvor bei Glenmorangie verwendet wurden.

Palo Cortado ist die seltenste Sherry-Sorte, die rein zufällig entsteht, wenn sich die schützende Flor-Hefe nicht auf dem Sherry bildet, der zu Amontillado werden soll.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Reichhaltig, elegant und rund. Die Süße von Toffee, Karamell und Vanille vermischt sich mit moosigen Noten und Anklängen von Glühwein. Dann kommen Düfte von Honig-Ingwer und Milchschokoladentrüffel mit Zimt. Ein Spritzer Wasser enthüllt Noten von Orangenlimonade, Nelken und Paranüssen.
Palate Eine ölige, aber pfeffrige Textur führt zu einem Ausbruch von reichen, süßen Aromen. Sirup-Toffee und Milchschokolade werden von Noten von Nelken, Ingwer, Zimt und Muskatnuss begleitet. Unterdessen finden fruchtige Untertöne von Rosinen, dunklen Pflaumen und Bitterorangen ein köstliches Gleichgewicht mit gebackenem Roggenbrot und gesalzenen Nüssen.
Finish Lang und nussig, voll von Gewürzen, Leder und einem Hauch von Anis.

    The Glenmorangie Distillery, located in the Scottish Highlands, is one of the most well-known and renowned single malt Scotch whisky distilleries in the world. The distillery is situated near the town of Tain in Ross-shire and was founded in 1843. Today, Glenmorangie is part of Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), one of the world's leading luxury goods conglomerates.

    Glenmorangie was established in 1843 by William Matheson, who utilized the former buildings of a brewery for whisky distillation. Since its inception, the distillery has continuously evolved and modernized to produce high-quality whisky. In 1918, Glenmorangie was acquired by the Macdonald & Muir family, who managed the distillery for several generations.

    A unique feature of Glenmorangie is the height of its stills. At 8 meters tall, the highest in Scotland, they contribute to the production of an exceptionally pure and light distillate. This allows only the purest vapors to condense and be processed into a fine whisky. Glenmorangie also exclusively uses natural ingredients, including barley and water from the Tarlogie Springs, known for their purity.

    Maturation plays a central role in the production of Glenmorangie whisky. The distillery is renowned for its expertise in cask management and uses a variety of casks to create complex and layered flavors. The cask types include ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, carefully selected and specially crafted for Glenmorangie. Additionally, the distillery experiments with different cask types such as sherry, port, and wine casks to create special finishes.

    The Glenmorangie range includes a wide array of single malt whiskies known for their versatility and quality. The core expressions include Glenmorangie Original 10 Years, Glenmorangie Lasanta, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, and Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or.
