Operating with two pot stills, Ardbeg produces approximately 10,000 casks (1.4 million liters) of spirit annually. The name 'Ardbeg,' derived from the Scottish Gaelic 'An Àird Bheag,' meaning 'The small headland,' is not just a name but a testament to the distillery's connection to the land and community.

Each expression begins as a carefully selected single malt, chosen for its bold character, before undergoing the characteristic Darkness maturation period of at least 3 months in hand-crafted sherry octave casks such as Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso, Moscatel, Manzanilla, and Palo Cortado. In these tiny casks, the whisky quietly transforms, developing its intensity and revealing maximum flavor, richness, and natural color.
