DESCRIPTION

The Williamson 10 Year Old (2014/2024) – Best Dram is an exceptional Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Isle of Islay, matured in a First Fill Palo Cortado Sherry Butt (Cask No. 249). This whisky stands out with its 10-year maturation period and a robust alcohol content of 62.0% ABV. Limited to 572 bottles, it is bottled without chill filtration or added coloring.

The flavor profile combines the smoky, maritime notes typical of Laphroaig with the sweet, nutty complexity of the Palo Cortado sherry cask. The aroma features smoke and ash, complemented by salty sea breezes and hints of air-dried ham. The palate is creamy and rich, with a wave of sweetness, balanced by phenolic notes and a touch of salt. The long finish is also characterized by smoke and sweetness, with a subtle iodine note.

TASTING NOTES

Nose	Smoky with phenolic, ashy, maritime, slightly salty characteristics, complemented by nutty and air-dried ham notes, which turn into a bakery note after a longer period of time. Not perceptible despite the high alcohol content.
Palate	Creamy mouthfeel. The phenolic notes and cold ash are replaced by a sweet touch. A subtle hint of salt, complemented by nuts and green bacon. No trace of the 62% vol.
Finish	Very long and phenolic, with a fading sweetness.
