DESCRIPTION

  • Hakutsuru - Japanese Single Malt Whisky

The Hakutsuru Distillery, founded in 1743, is a renowned brewery in Japan known for its high-quality sake and whisky products. The distillery is located in Kobe, in Hyogo Prefecture, and is one of the largest and most famous sake producers in Japan. Hakutsuru means "white crane," a symbol of good fortune and longevity in Japan.

Hakutsuru has made a name for itself primarily through its sake productions, with some of the most famous sakes such as Hakutsuru Premium Sake Junmai Dai Ginjo "SHO-UNE" and Hakutsuru Excellent Sake "Tanrei Junmai" being appreciated worldwide. Visitors can tour the Hakutsuru Sake Brewery and the associated museum to learn more about the traditional art of sake making and to sample various varieties.

In addition to sake, Hakutsuru also produces whisky. A notable example is the Tan Cho Single Malt Whisky. This whisky is distilled in Hokkaido and aged in Mizunara casks, giving it a unique flavor that combines notes of grain, banana, and a hint of spices. The Tan Cho Whisky is a limited edition and stands out due to its complex aromas and the careful selection of casks.

Hakutsuru uses both traditional and modern techniques to ensure the quality and taste of its products. The use of high-quality water from the region and strict control of the fermentation process contribute to the production of top-notch beverages.
