Die Küsten-Destillerie von der malerischen Halbinsel Morvern baut für die Herstellung ausschließlich auf erneuerbare Energien und brennt ihren Organic Single Malt auf Basis von 100 Prozent biologisch angebauter schottischer Gerste.

Nc‘nean ist zudem die erste Brennerei in Großbritannien, die Netto-Null-Emissionen für die Produktion erreicht hat – und damit das Ziel der schottischen Whisky-Industrie für 2040 um knapp 20 Jahre übertrifft.

Neben dem Wohl des Planeten folgt Nc’nean einer weiteren Fährte: innovative Geschmackserlebnisse. Für die limitierte Serie Huntress experimentieren Gründerin Annabel Thomas und ihr Team mit Hefe – der Zutat für faszinierende Aromen.

Huntress 2023: Woodland Candy ist der erste Nc’nean Whisky, der auf vier Hefesorten baut. Zur unkonventionellen Rezeptur des Single Malts zählen z.B. erstmals Rotwein- und Weißweinhefen.

Ein Dram aus der dunklen Recyclingflasche entfaltet so ein komplexes Profil aus buttrigem Toffee, Waldfrüchten und Kräuterwürze.

  • Nc'Nean - Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    The Nc'Nean Distillery, located on the Morvern Peninsula on the west coast of Scotland, is one of the youngest and most environmentally friendly whisky distilleries in the country. Founded in 2017, Nc'Nean became known as Scotland's first fully organic distillery and focuses on sustainable production methods. The distillery exclusively uses Scottish organic barley and operates its facilities with 100% renewable energy. The distillery aims to create new flavors while promoting eco-friendly practices.

    The name Nc'Nean is derived from "Neachneohain," the Queen of Spirits in Gaelic legend. Nc'Nean's first whisky release, launched in the spring of 2020, was characterized by a light and fruity profile, with notes of citrus, apricot, peach, and spices. The distillery has also released a series of special editions, including the "Quiet Rebels" series and the "Huntress" series, known for their unique flavor profiles and limited availability.

    A distinctive feature of the Nc'Nean Distillery is its commitment to sustainability. It is the first distillery in the UK to be certified as a net-zero emissions operation and uses 100% recycled glass for its bottles.
