DESCRIPTION

The Glen Grant 1995/2024 is an outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the renowned Speyside region of Scotland. Distilled on May 31, 1995, and bottled on June 18, 2024, this whisky impressively aged for 29 years in a carefully selected bourbon barrel with cask number 88196. With a limited release of only 196 bottles, it is a true rarity for collectors and connoisseurs.

This exclusive bottling is the result of a collaboration between Signatory Vintage, one of Scotland's most respected independent bottlers since 1988, and the Wu Dram Clan, a discerning indie trio. Together, they selected this special cask from a treasure trove of over 10,000 hogsheads, butts, and other casks stored in the halls of Signatory Vintage.

With an alcohol content of 45.6% ABV at cask strength, the Glen Grant 1995/2024 offers an unadulterated tasting experience, as it is neither colored nor chill-filtered. Aromatically, it impresses with notes of pastries, light fruits, and a hint of wax, giving it a special depth and complexity. The bottle size is 0.7 liters.

  • Glen Grant - Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Glen Grant distillery, founded in 1840 by brothers John and James Grant in Rothes, Speyside, is one of the world's leading single malt Scotch whisky distilleries and is particularly well known for its bestsellers in Italy. Over the years, the distillery has undergone several changes of ownership and has been part of the Campari Group since 2006. Glen Grant is known for its light, fresh whiskies, which are mainly matured in ex-bourbon and refill casks, which emphasises the finesse of the whisky. Ex-sherry casks, which once characterised Glen Grant, are now rarely found at the distillery, but remain a hallmark of Gordon & MacPhail bottlings.

The distillery has had an eventful history, including a merger with Glenlivet in the 1970s and a takeover by the Campari Group in 2006. Despite the many changes and takeovers, Glen Grant remains the only single malt distillery still bearing the name of its founders. Today, Glen Grant is not only known for its highly rated single malts, but also as an important part of the Chivas blends.

Glen Grant's production capacity is impressive and runs at full capacity all year round due to the dual production of single malts and blends. The water for this large-scale production comes from the nearby Caperdonich well. Eight powerful stills are at the heart of Glen Grant's production, with the distinctive shape of the stills responsible for the light flavour of the whisky.

Glen Grant operates an excellent visitor centre which welcomes over 10,000 visitors a year and offers tours of the distillery. The distillery offers a core range of official bottlings, including a 10 year old, a 16 year old and the Major's Reserve, as well as an extensive vintage collection. Gordon & McPhail plays a significant role in the history of Glen Grant and continues the tradition of offering bottlings from older casks.

  • Signatory Vintage

Signatory Vintage, based in Perthshire, Scotland, is a leading independent bottler known since its founding in 1988 by Andrew Symington for its exquisite and rare Scottish whiskies. With access to approximately 35,000 casks, Signatory offers an impressive range of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that highlight the unique properties of each individual cask.

    Diverse Premium Quality Offerings

The Signatory Vintage product range includes regular bottlings at 43% alcohol content, a cask strength series, and a non-chill-filtered series. Each of these series is appreciated for their purity and authenticity, as they forego artificial colorants and chill filtration. These practices help preserve the natural taste and color of the whisky, which is particularly popular among connoisseurs.

    Preservers of History

A special aspect of Signatory Vintage is their commitment to preserving whiskies from closed distilleries. These bottlings offer enthusiasts the rare opportunity to taste whiskies from a bygone era of whisky production. The acquisition of the Edradour Distillery in 2002 marked another milestone for Signatory Vintage, as they now also oversee the distillation process themselves, thus gaining greater control over production.

    Exclusive Bottlings and Collectibles

Among the notable releases are the Cask Strength Collection, which offers whiskies at cask strength, and the Silent Stills series, which includes the last available quantities from no longer existing distilleries. These series are particularly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs looking for extraordinary and limited editions.
