DESCRIPTION

Kleine Stückzahlen, große Vielfalt – Hercynian Distilling Co. Seit 2002 steht die Familienbrennerei aus dem Harz für hoch aromatischen Single Malt. Dieser entsteht mit handwerklichem Geschick und Experimentierfreude ebenso wie durch das Wirken einer beeindruckenden Auswahl von Eichenholzfässern in verschiedenen Fassgrößen. Der Großteil von ihnen vorbelegt mit einer breiten Palette an Süd- und Süßweinen von Amarone über Marsala bis Sauternes.

Von den weinseligen Casks profitierte jüngst ein Single Malt der Harzer Kernmarke ElsBurn. The Original Hercynian Single Malt ist ein milder Whisky, in der Regel gebrannt aus hellem, nicht-rauchigem Malz und geröstetem Chocolate-Malz. Der Erstauflage des ElsBurn Ruby & Tawny Port war eine aromaintensive Reifezeit in Fässern gegönnt, die zuvor unterschiedliche Portweine enthielten.

Der Likörwein vom Typ Ruby ist besonders kräftig und fruchtig, während Tawny Port in kleinen Pipes schnell süße Trockenfruchtnoten entwickelt. Entsprechend kennzeichnen eine komplexe Süße und herrliche Fruchtnoten das limitierte Bottling.
