Die ungetorften Abfüllungen von Caol Ila sind ein fester Bestandteil der Special-Release-Reihe von Diageo und gehören für Fans der Islay-Destillerie stets zu den am meisten erwarteten Whiskys des Jahres.

Caol Ila ist dafür bekannt, dass er eine Spirituose mit einer ausgeprägten grasigen Torfigkeit produziert, aber bei dieser Version wird dieser starke Rauch entfernt, um die Spirituose in einem ganz anderen Licht zu präsentieren.

Caol Ila 15 Unpeated wird mit 59,1 % abgefüllt, ohne Kühlfiltration oder künstliche Färbung, was einen Dram voller dichter Aromen und einem dichten Mundgefühl garantiert.

TASTING NOTES
Nose Entspannt, mit sanft ansteigenden Wellen tieffruchtiger Schärfe; grüne Äpfel und ein Hauch von Orangenschalen.Die Süße von Birnentropfen und biskuitartiges Getreide stehen vor einem fernen Hintergrund von weicher Vanille mit einem Hauch von Meersalz.
Palate Kühl und zähflüssig, mit einem überraschend milden Mundgefühl und zunächst einem süßen, minzigen und salzigen Geschmack; Noten von harzigem Lakritz, klarem Honig, Kiefernharz, Salz und Zitrone. Am mittleren Gaumen frischer Pfirsich. Exquisit umhüllend und fest, ölig und doch trocken.
Finish Lang, anhaltend und wärmend, mit einer gewissen Würze; Anis, Lakritze, Honig und Zitronenschale. Herrlich umhüllend mit einer Bitterkeit von dunkler Schokolade.
